Sport fishing from Uvita
Sport fishing departing from Ballena National Marine Park is a great option, but it’s important to note that fishing is not permitted within the park boundaries.
The park serves only as a departure point for the fishing boats, and since there is no dock or marina, guests will board traditional Panga-style boats from the beach.
Certainly, we ensure that these boats meet all legal and safety requirements to operate such tours satisfactorily.
Our commitment to safety and compliance is unwavering, allowing our guests to enjoy their fishing adventure with complete peace of mind.
For those seeking a more luxurious fishing experience, we invite you to explore the information we have available for fishing tours departing from the marinas in Quepos and Golfito.
These tours offer top-of-the-line equipment and amenities, as well as the opportunity to fish in some of the most abundant waters in the region.
Sport Fishing practiced in a sustainable way
Sportfishing can be sustainable and responsible with the environment if it is practiced in a manner that takes into account the conservation of fish populations and the surrounding ecosystem.
To make sportfishing sustainable, we take the following seven actions:
- Use selective fishing techniques and the right equipment
- Adhere to catch and size limits
- Implement fishing seasons and restricted zones
- Properly handle and dispose of fishing waste
- Minimize disturbance of fish habitats
- Support research efforts
- Educate anglers on sustainable practices
By practicing these seven actions, we ensure that sportfishing is a sustainable and responsible activity that benefits both the environment and local communities.
